Eastport schools redistricting issues

As a parent and former PTA president myself, I fully understand the issues facing Eastport Elementary School and the proposed redistricting. This proposal will also hurt Eastport as a community as it will mean moving many tremendous young families out of our neighborhood school.

I just had another productive phone call with our Anne Arundel County Public Schools Board Rep, Joanna Tobin. She told me she sincerely appreciates the engagement of the Eastport Elementary School PTA and assures me that she continues to be open to pulling the proposal. She emphasized the importance of our community attending in person or watching a public briefing online this evening in which the proposal will be explained. There is not an opportunity to testify or ask questions this evening as it is only an informational session. It is also very important to attend and participate in the public hearing on October 13.
