Homestead Tax Credit cap

“There’s recently been some talk about lowering the Homestead Tax Credit cap.  I believe that is the wrong solution to the real problem: City expenses are too high.  We need to overhaul the budget process and determine our expenses first, not the other way around.  Lowering the cap will not solve the problem. It will just cause residents with the same value home to pay different property taxes.  That’s not fair. Let’s work to reduce the increase in property taxes for everyone.”
